There are some security settings you need to be aware of. If you change these settings, you and you alone will have access to some files, or the ability to start the computer.

BitLocker. SLCHC suggests that you do not use BitLocker. BitLocker encrypts the entire hard drive. If you forget your password, the only solution is to wipe out everything on the computer and start from scratch.

BIOS Security. Once again, if you set a password, you and only you have that password. If you forget the password, the computer will not start and the only repair is to return it to Dell and it will be wiped clean.

In both cases repairs will take at least a week to complete. We do not have loaner or replacement equipment for these situations.
